The Stars emergency helicopter has flown several missions into Western Manitoba over the past couple of weeks.

According the latest activity report, the air ambulance flew into Minnedosa for a motorcycle accident last Saturday and another flight into Brandon on Wednesday.

The week before that, stars responded to motor vehicle related incidents in Minnedosa and Souris.

In all, Stars flew 14 emergency missions across the province last week.

Spokesman Cam Heke says they intend to ramp up operations even more in the near future and expect to fly about once a day.

The Stars helicopters can travel at up to 225 kilometres per hour.
