Mark Scheifele had a hat trick and Connor Hellebuyck made 38 saves in the Winnipeg Jets 4-2 victory over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Kyle Connor with his 30th of the season also scored for the Jets who are 2-0 on their five-game road trip. Winnipeg's next game is Thursday against New Jersey. The Jets were without coach Rick Bowness for Tuesday's game against the Rangers. The 69-year-old returned to Winnipeg for a minor medical procedure and will be back once his condition improves. Associate coach Scott Arniel guided the Jets to their third consecutive victory. 

Brad Lambert had a goal and two assists as the Manitoba Moose defeated the Grand Rapids Griffins 5-1 at Canada Life Centre. Dawson Barteaux, Parker Ford, Jeffrey Viel and Axel Jonsson-Fjallby also scored for the Moose who have won nine of their last 10 games. Thomas Milic stopped 13 of the 14 shots he faced in net for Manitoba. 

Hockey Canada has announced that two-time Olympic gold medallist Rick Nash will serve as general manager of Canada’s National Men’s Team at the 2024 IIHF World Championship, May 10-26 in Prague and Ostrava, Czechia. Nash was selected by Doug Armstrong management group lead for Canada’s National Men’s Team, Ryan Getzlaf, player relations advisor and Scott Salmond, senior vice-president of hockey operations and high performance. Nash most recently won a silver medal as assistant general manager of Canada’s National Men’s Team at the 2022 IIHF World Championship. He is in his third season as director of player development with the Columbus Blue Jackets, and previously spent two seasons (2019-21) as the team’s special assistant to the general manager. As a player, he represented Canada at the Olympic Winter Games in 2006, 2010 and 2014, winning gold in 2010 and 2014. He also wore the Maple Leaf at four IIHF World Championships, winning one gold medal (2007) and two silver (2005, 2008), and won a silver medal at the 2002 IIHF World Junior Championship. Professionally, he played in 1,060 NHL games over 15 seasons with the Blue Jackets, New York Rangers and Boston Bruins, amassing 805 career points (437 goals, 368 assists).

Colton Lott & Kadriana Lott have a 5-0 record heading into the final day of round robin play at the 2024 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The three-time Manitoba champions won a pair of games Tuesday as they defeated Anne-Sophie Gionest & Robert Desjardins of Chicoutimi 13-1 and Jenny White & Edward White of Crapaud, Prince Edward Island 6-5.

Rachel Homan is undefeated heading into day five at the World Women’s Curling Championship in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Homan, vice-skip Tracy Fleury, second Emma Miskew and lead Sarah Wilkes downed Stefania Constantini of Italy 8-7 in an extra end and defending World champions Silvana Tirinzoni of Switzerland 8-5. Homan is 6-0 and will face Miyu Ueno of Japan (2-4) and Dilsat Yildiz of Turkey (1-6) today.
