The following is the RCMP report to July 5, 2016. This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.

- 9 traffic violations

- 9 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)

- 18 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)

- 6 crimes against property

- 2 crimes against persons

- 2 other criminal code

 There will be no office staff in the Killarney Detachment from July 18-July 29, 2016. Criminal Record checks can be picked up/dropped off after August 3, 2016. If you have an emergency, call 911 or 204-523-7255 to dispatch a police officer.

There will no office staff in the Boissevain Detachment from July 18-22, 2016 and August 15-19, 2016.  

There will be no office staff in the Deloraine Detachment from August 1-19, 2016.

June 29, 2016

Police received a driving complaint in the Pelican Lake Riviera area when it was reported a vehicle was going approximately 60 km/h in a 40 km/h zone. Police spoke with the driver who was cooperative and denied speeding in the area. No evidence to support the complaint and no charges were laid.

June 30, 2016

Police received a report that this morning on Pelican Lake Road, the complainant was following a vehicle going 65-75 km/h. He sounded his horn and went to pass them. They cut him off and he went into a steep ditch, almost rolled. He drove out of the ditch and they stopped and started yelling at him for trying to pass on a gravel road. Statements were obtained, and the registered owner was served a ticket for imprudent driving.

Police received a report of an unknown male was hanging around the property and was refusing to leave despite being asked to do so. Police attended and located the male who claimed he took a bus from Brandon, MB to Boissevain, MB looking for work. There is no such bus. The male was escorted home to Brandon.

July 1, 2016

Police received a report of off-road vehicles at the Pelican Lake Riviera at what is believed to be an excessive speed. Patrols were made and no quads were located or unruly behavior observed.

Police received a report of an unknown female (very intoxicated) crawling to a camp site at Rock Lake and stated that she got beat up with a tire iron by the people she was with (unknown who they were). The female was complaining of a sore back and had a cut above her eyebrow. The female left the camp site shortly after. Police attended and located very intoxicated female in the area. She kept changing her story several times. She was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and escorted to the Killarney Hospital, where she was medically cleared to be lodged. The female was lodged overnight and released in the morning. She declined to provide a statement to Police. Unknown what had occurred as the female was uncooperative.

Police received a report of a mischief to a vehicle in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

july 2, 2016

911 dispatch of a suspicious person in the Brenda-Waskada area. Complainant advised that unknown male was walking down the road, when complainant got near him he took off running. Last seen running eastbound. Wearing lime green shirt, no visible weapons or injuries. Police were tied up at the time with a another matter. No further calls were received. 

Police received another report of an ATV driving on Pelican Lake road with too many passengers, and no helmets. Police spoke to the complainant who advised the ATV's kick up dust and make noise. The complainant was advised that police were aware of the problem. ATV patrols have been and will continue to be made, as well as patrol car patrols.

Police received a complaint of open liquor when a group approximately 5 unknown males were drinking on the floating dock at the Killarney Beach. Police attended and located the group of 4 males, all cooperative with police and disposed of the liquor. No one intoxicated and no charges were laid.

July 4, 2016

Police assisted with a matter under the Family Relations Act in Killarney.

A set of Toyota keys were turned into the Killarney detachment and can be claimed by description.

Child Abuse Registry checks are NOT done through the RCMP. Please call 1-800-282-8069 for any information on the Child Abuse Registry. Criminal Record Checks and Vulnerable Sector Searches: Our goal is to complete these checks in a timely manner, however please plan ahead as they can take up to 3 weeks to complete. People are reminded they themselves can only request and pick up their own checks and are asked to bring two pieces of identification, one photo.

Please also remember that Criminal Checks and Vulnerable Sector Searches for volunteers must provide a letter from the organization stating their volunteer status or there will be a $10.00 fee.

Criminal Record Checks for employment are $10.00 each.

Police would like to remind the public that if anyone requires fingerprinting services, they must make an appointment at the Killarney RCMP detachment. Drop-ins cannot be accommodated.

We would like to advise that the business hours of operation at the Killarney Detachment are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday

NEW HOURS FOR THE BOISSEVAIN OFFICE: The Boissevain RCMP business hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No office staff on Fridays.

The Deloraine RCMP business hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday are 8:30 to 3:00 p.m 

The general public is encouraged to attend during those hours to ensure someone will be here. It is also recommended to call ahead, however, in the event of an emergency, call 911 or the emergency line.

RCMP WOULD LIKE TO REMIND THE PUBLIC THAT AFTER HOURS AND ON WEEKENDS TO USE THE POLICE EMERGENCY LINE FOR YOUR LOCAL OFFICE or 911. The administration line may not be checked until the following day or possibly the Monday following a weekend. Members may be in another community or on the road.
