The RM of VIctoria's been in planning for a new lagoon for some time. Reeve Harold Purkess tells us about how urgent the need is.

"It's quite urgent," he says. "We do have the permits in place for the Holland lagoon, but we've given Cypress River preference because we're really operating it without a licence. They're just giving us a temporary permit to use it until such a time as we can get a new one built."

He notes they now require the funding from the province.

There is a $3,000,000 price tag on the new lagoon, with the municpality's share around $700,000. Purkess says they hope to get things done this summer.
