The following is the RCMP report to May 17, 2022.  This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.

- 17 traffic violations

- 17 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)

- 12 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)

- 21 crimes against property

- 5 other criminal code

- 6 crimes against persons

Killarney/Boissevain/Deloraine Detachment

Please be advised that Boissevain and Deloraine Detachments do not have an administrative clerk.  Please call Killarney Detachment to file a complaint or apply for criminal record checks. 

Call 204-523-7293 Killarney for administration requests.   The Killarney office can be contacted for criminal record checks, complaints, hit and run reports etc.  Criminal record checks may take up to 4 weeks so PLAN ACCORDINGLY.  In the event of an emergency, call 911 or 204-523-7255. 

If you need to speak with a police officer immediately or to report to police in accordance with your court ordered conditions, please call 204-523-7255. 

Just a reminder that RCMP DO NOT do child abuse and adult abuse registry checks.  RCMP is responsible for criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks.  You will require a vulnerable sector check if you are in a position of trust. You must present to the detachment when applying for a vulnerable sector check. 

Position of Trust means a paid or voluntary position dealing with vulnerable people. Vulnerable people may include children, youth, the elderly, people with physical, developmental, emotional, social, or other disabilities, people who are addicted or dependent on addictive substances, and people who have been the victim of a crime or an accident.

Applicants who require a Vulnerable Sector Check from their organization must present themselves in person and provide written consent in order for the checks to be conducted.

Proper identification must be produced and recorded on the application: a government issued photo identification for the Primary Document, and a secondary document which verifies the Primary identification.

May 3, 2022

RCMP received a 911 call of an unknown situation on Broadway Ave in Killarney.  Police attended.  A male was arrested and charged with 3 counts of assault and was released on an undertaking.

Police assisted with a matter under the Child Welfare Act in Baldur.

Police received a report of mischief in Ninette.  The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of mischief in Boissevain.  The matter is under investigation.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in the Killarney-Turtle Mountain area.
 

May 5, 2022

Police received a report of an attempted theft of catalytic converters in Ninga.  Police attended the scene, obtained photographs, statements.    Police would like to remind the public to report any suspicious behavior.  It may seem insignificant at the time but may help police in the future. 

Police received a report a grey SUV swerving all over Highway 21.  The license plate was given to police, police located the vehicle and police provided a warning to the driver. 

Police received a report of theft in the Cartwright-Roblin area.  The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of harassment in Boissevain. The matter is under investigation.
 

May 6, 2022

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Baldur.

Police received a report of trespassing on private property with quads and side by sides.  Police provided advice on how to secure property and post private property/no trespassing signage, and document vehicles on same and police can issue Trespassing tickets to drivers/suspect(s). More patrols will be done in the Pleasant Valley area.

Police did a well being check in Killarney.  Ambulance was called to assist.

Police received a report of theft at a location near Baldur.  The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of disobeying a court order in Hartney.  The matter was unfounded.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Baldur.

Police recovered a stolen vehicle near Deloraine.  The matter is under investigation.
 

May 12, 2022

911 call of possible disturbance in Boissevain.   Police attended and spoke to a two males who were moving around some furniture.  No signs of violence, no visible injuries.
 

May 13, 2022

Police received a report of an intoxicated female walking north bound on highway 18, about 3 miles north of Killarney.  Police attended and located the female who was intoxicated and advised she was  going to Brandon.  Police advised the female that she should go home and try again when she is sober, she reluctantly agreed to be taken home until sober. Police dropped her off at a residence with a sober adult.

Police received a tip regarding a male with a warrant out of Brandon who was currently in Killarney.  The male was arrested and remanded into custody.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Belmont.

Police received a 911 call regarding a highly intoxicated female that had left the house going south in Deloraine.  Police located the female walking down a side road in Deloraine. The female was placed under arrest under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.
 

May 14, 2022

Police received a report of a female failing to comply with an order in Killarney.  There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of mischief in the Cartwright-Roblin area.  The matter is under investigation.
 

May 16, 2022

Police received a report of a truck fire in Deloraine.  The truck was determined to be stolen and the fire suspicious.  The matter is under investigation.

Police received several reports of break and enters to vehicles in Boissevain and Waskada.  These matters are being investigated. Police would like to remind the public that it's not like the good old days when you could leave your vehicle unlocked with the keys in it.  Please lock your vehicles/garages/houses and keep keys inside your residence.
 

May 17, 2022

Police received a report of three bullet holes on a vehicle which was parked at a farm in Boissevain-Morton area. The matter is under investigation.

Police continue to remind residents to never provide personal information such as birth dates, SIN numbers, credit card numbers, or e-mail address to parties you do not know.  If you feel that you have been contacted by a fraudulent source, please contact police or Canadian AntiFraud Center immediately for further instructions on what you can do.  Canadian Antifraud Centre can be reached directly at 1-888-495-8501, however also report same to the local detachment.

We would like to advise that the business hours of operation at the Killarney Detachment are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.  THERE ARE NO ADMINISTRATION HOURS AT BOISSEVAIN OR DELORAINE.

RCMP WOULD LIKE TO REMIND THE PUBLIC TO USE THE POLICE EMERGENCY LINE FOR YOUR LOCAL OFFICE (204) 523-7255 or 911.  The administration line may not be checked until the following day or possibly the Monday following a weekend.  Members may be in another community or on the road.
