Arson

On April 14th at 10:35 am Police attended to Brandon Correctional Center and arrested a 37-year-old male for Arson. On March 31st, 2024, a resident in the 200 block of 5th street reported a male had set a tree in his yard on fire. The accused was identified via video surveillance as being responsible. He will appear in court on April 15th, 2024.

Trespassing

On April 14th at 11:53 am an off-duty officer called in to report a male had just stolen a jacket from a business in the 900 block of 18th street north. Police arrested a 26-year-old male, and the jacket was recovered. The accused had also been served a banning notice from a neighboring business and was found to have breached that order. The male will be released in the morning and served a provincial offense notice for Trespassing.

Arrest Warrant

On April 14th Police attended to a residence in the 1200 block of Lorne Avenue East. A 31-year-old male was arrested as he had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. He was released for court on May 13th, 2024.

Possession of a prohibited weapon

On April 14th at 3:20pm Police conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of Laurence Crescent. The driver showed signs of impairment and was issued an immediate roadside prohibition. He was also found to be in possession of brass knuckles and was charged for possession of a prohibited weapon. He was later released for court on June 10th, 2024.

Breach of Peace calls

On April 14th at 3:09 pm Police were called to corner of 1st street and Madison crescent for an intoxicated female yelling at people. A 25-year-old female was arrested and will be released in the morning.

On April 14th at 4:50 pm Police received a call from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue reporting a male was on the property bothering customers and refusing to leave. A 25-year-old intoxicated male was arrested and will be released in the morning.

On April 14th at 8:55 pm Police were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 1600 block of Sycamore drive. An intoxicated 28-year-old male was the cause of the issues and was arrested. He will be released in the morning.

On April 14th at 10:40 pm Police received numerous calls reporting a male and female arguing in front of an institution in the 200 block of 18th street. An intoxicated 25-year-old male was arrested and will be released in the morning with a bylaw ticket for being drunk and disorderly in a public place. The 22-year-old female was given a ride and turned over to the care of a family member.

On April 15th at 02:07 am Police were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 700 block of 8th street. An intoxicated 22-year-old female was arrested as she was the cause of the issues. She will be released in the morning.
