Community Futures Westman is holding a seminar this week Wednesday for those new to the business world and wanting to start a business, as well as new Canadians who are looking to begin a new business and aren't sure where to start.

Wendy Petersen, says the event will provide resources and supports in the business field, financial sector, and in provincial and federal agencies to guide entrepreneurs in Canadian laws and guidelines.

"We have about 20 exhibitors who are going to be there, and these people are bringing with them all sorts of resources and supports for those who are looking to start any type of business. We have everything from banks to credit unions to government agencies, and we'll have our own table there as well."

"We have lots of interesting information for people," she adds. "It's like a one-stop-shop for those entrepreneurs who are thinking that owning their own business might be in their future!"

Community Futures Westman is a community-based, volunteer-driven organization that strengthens the economy of southwestern Manitoba by operating a Business Development Centre, and by cooperating with individuals, communities and other agencies to encourage community economic development.

Petersen says they will have a number of guest speakers at the Wednesday event who will share their story of starting a new business in their new country of residence, Canada.

Please listen to more with Wendy Petersen as she shares more on the guest speakers at the Wednesday afternoon and evening event.

The goal of Community Futures Westman is to identify, develop and support long-term job creation and economic development in the region. This is achieved through various activities, such as seminars and workshops.

The Community Futures business seminar will be held this week Wednesday, April 17th at the Dome Building on the Keystone Centre grounds, from 1:00-7:00 pm.
