April 13th Report ~ For the last 24 hours:

 Theft Under $5000.00 / Breach of Probation: 

On April 12, 2024, at 7:19 pm, police were dispatched to a business in the 800 block of 18th Street North regarding a male who was stealing items.  A 37-year-old male was located and arrested in the area with the stolen merchandise.  The male was found to be bound by conditions of a Probation Order to not to possess any weapons and was in possession of weapons when arrested.  The male was lodged at the Brandon Police Service and appeared before a Justice regarding the matters.

Breach of the Peace:

On April 12, 2024, at 5:40 pm, police encountered an intoxicated and highly agitated 38-year-old female in the 1500 block of Stickney Avenue.  The female was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Police Service where she was later released once sober. 

Breach of Court Order / Possession of a Controlled Substance:

On April 12, 2024, at 10:35 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Lorne Avenue.  Police arrested 2 female occupants of the vehicle for failing to abide by their curfews.  Police also located a small amount of a controlled substance.  A 30- and 38-year-old female were lodged at the Brandon Police Service where they appeared before a Justice regarding the matter.

Theft Under / Mischief /Assault:

On April 13, 2024, at 12:20 am, police received a report of a male smashing vehicle windows in the 500 block of 12th Street.  The male was tracked to a business in the 700 block of 10th Street where he had caused damage and had assaulted an employee by throwing a beverage/container at him.  The 19-year-old male was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Police Service where he appeared before a Justice regarding the matter.

Breach of Peace:

On April 13, 2024, at 12:48 am, police were dispatched to the 500 block of Braecrest Drive regarding a highly intoxicated male.  Police located and arrested a 19-year-old male.  The male was lodged at the Brandon Police Service and later released once sober.

Impaired Driving:

On April 13, 2024, at 2: 11 am, police were requested to the area of 18th Street and Brandon Avenue regarding a vehicle being operated by an impaired driver.   The vehicle fled from police, however it was located a short time later on Acadia Boulevard.  The driver, a 28-year-old male, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and subsequently arrested.  The male later provided breaths that were more than twice the legal limit.  The male was later released with a future court date.

Assault with a Weapon:

On April 13, 2024, at 4:16 am, police were dispatched to a residence in the 000 block of 13th Street regarding an assault with a weapon.  Police attended and are investigating the matter.  No further details will be released at this time.

Structure Fire:

On April 13, 2024, at 8:14 am, police and fire/emergency services were dispatched to fire at a residence in the 300 block of 2nd Street.  No injuries were reported to any of occupants of the residence or to emergency personnel.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

 

April 14th Report ~ For the last 24 hours:

Possession of a Prohibited Weapon / Assault on Police X3 / Resist Arrest: 

On April 13, 2024, at 10:51 am, police responded to a report of a male with a weapon near the Police Station.  Police attended and encountered a highly agitated uncooperative 36-year-old male who was armed with a metal rod.  During the initial attempt to arrest the male he proceeded to punch 3 officers and was able to briefly flee on foot.  Police pursued the male, and he was apprehended near 10th Street and Victoria.  The metal rod that the male had in his possession was found to conceal an ice pick style weapon.  The male was lodged at the Brandon Police Station where he later appeared before a Justice and was remanded into custody. The officers involved did not require any medical attention resulting from the altercation.

Arrest Warrant:

On April 13, 2024, at 5:05 pm, police were dispatched to a suspicious person in the 100 block of 13th Street.  Police located the male in the 000 block of 10th Street and discovered that he had a warrant for his arrest.    The 36-year-old male was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Police Service where he appeared before a Justice regarding the matter.

Fail to Comply with Undertaking Condition – Curfew: 

On April 9, 2024, police attended to a residence in the 300 block of 1st Street to conduct a check on a female who was bound by a curfew and to be residing at the 1st Street residence.  The female was not present during the check and was subsequently failing to abide by her curfew condition.  On April 13, 2024, at 5:08 pm, police located the female in the 000 block of 10th Street.  The 28-year-old female was arrested and later released with a future court date.

Arrest Warrant:

On April 13, 2024, at 9:03 pm, loss prevention from business in the 900 block of 18th Street North requested police attend to assist with a female causing a disturbance.  Police attended and learned the female had a warrant for her arrest.  Police arrested the 32-year-old female and she was later released with a future court date.

Drive While Prohibited / Possess Break-in Instruments:

On April 14, 2024, at 207 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 3300 block of Victoria Avenue East.  The driver of the vehicle was found to be prohibited from driving in Canada and was in possession of instruments/tools for break and enter purposes.  The 50-year-old male was arrested, his vehicle was seized/towed, and he was later released with a future court date.
