The grain is in the bin and super B’s are on the road to haul this year’s harvest to their community elevators.  All in all, it seems to be a great harvest season weather-wise, and many producers are pleased with their results despite the little rain throughout the summer months.

Dale Coulter is Manager of Rocky Mountain Equipment for the Killarney, Boissevain and Brandon locations.

“I think the crops turned out to be, not ‘bumper crops’, but I think the guys are more than happy with what we’ve got this year,” says Coulter.  “With the heat wave that we saw in the middle of the year, which was pretty much unprecedented, we were really hoping that we could pull through, and I think the crops did do that.”

“With the commodity prices, I think everything has turned out pretty good for the guys,” he adds.

Securing product since the start of the pandemic been a challenge for many businesses, but as for the Case dealership it’s been business as usual with really no impact in obtaining parts or product.

“Not for just the Case dealerships, but the [Ag equipment] dealerships in the province have been pretty fortunate,” shares Coulter.  “At the beginning of Covid we were all put on notice that things could be hard to get and there are a few things like that.”

“The products are selling in advance, which is something which the Ag world is getting used to, but availability is still there which is really nice.”

“Covid hasn’t cut into that too hard so it’s like ‘business as usual’ which is a nice way to come to work every day,” he adds.
