There was a fatal crash in western Manitoba on Sunday.

On September 20, just before 10:00 p.m., officers from the Dauphin RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision approximately 1 mile south of Dauphin.

Investigators attended the scene and located a Chevrolet Impala on its right side on the east side of the road. Fire and ambulance personnel were also in attendance.

Investigators determined the car had been travelling southbound when it left the road. The driver of the car, a 41 year old Dauphin man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a 38 year old Duck Bay, Manitoba woman was taken to hospital for non life threatening injuries.

The investigation continues and police say speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors.
