The 2016 Skills Manitoba Competition took place yesterday at Red River College's Notre Dame and Downtown Winnipeg campuses, and Morning Show Co-Host Chris Sumner had the opportunity to participate as a judge in the Job Skill Demonstration contest.

About 500 students from across the province participated in more than 40 competitions ranging from carpentry to construction to computer animation.

While Chris was there he spoke with Skills Canada – Manitoba Executive Director Marcia Pacella.

Chris also spoke with two students who were competing, both returning gold medallists from 2015 and one a National Gold medallist from last year; Aesthetics student Nelli Albertin and Autbody Repair student Devin Boger.

He started with Grade 12 student Nelli Albertin who was on her lunch break from the aesthetics competition when he caught up with her.

Devin was also on a break from his competition when Chris spoke with him.

Congratulations to all the participants!
