The Dauphin Kings have a 2-0 round robin record at the Centennial Cup in Estevan. Parker Malchuk scored twice and Kaden Bryant had a goal and three assists as the Manitoba Junior Hockey League champions defeated the Summerside Western Capitals 7-1. The Kings next game is Tuesday against the Flin Flon Bombers.


The Moncton Flyers and Durham West Lightning captured the National U18 AAA Hockey Championships Sunday in Okotoks. Jack Martin scored 40 seconds into overtime to lift the Flyers past the Cantonniers de Magog 5-4 in the championship game of the Telus Cup. Sophie Helfenstein made 27 saves as the Lightning downed the Fraser Valley Rush in the final of the Esso Cup.


The Winnipeg Ice face the Oil Kings in Edmonton tonight in game three of the Western Hockey League’s Eastern Conference final. The best-of-seven is tied at a game a piece after the Ice and Oil Kings split the first two games of the series in Winnipeg.


Team Canada will face Denmark today (12:20 p.m.) at the 2022 World Men’s Hockey Championship in Helsinki. Canada has a 4-1 preliminary round record after losing 6-3 to Switzerland on Saturday. The Swiss lead Group A with a 5-0 record.


The Winnipeg Goldeyes dropped a 6-5 decision to Lake Country. The DockHounds won it with a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Fish had taken a 5-4 lead when Raul Navarro singled home Kevin Lachance in the top of the inning. The Goldeyes begin a four-game series against the Canaries in Sioux Falls tonight.


The Winnipeg Blue Bombers added defensive lineman Alfred Green to their training camp roster. The Bombers play their first pre-season game Friday, May 27th against the Edmonton Elks at IG Field.
