Did you know the Royal Winnipeg Ballet (RWB) School has satellite programs in a number of rural Manitoba communities?

Gimli, Altona, St. Malo and Eriksdale all currently have programs, and Morning Show Co-Host Chris Sumner MC'd the annual recital at the Altona program Sunday afternoon.

It was the first time he'd MC'd a ballet event, and the timing couldn't have been better because Ms. Suzanne André was in attendance.

Suzanne is the Principal of the RWB Professional Division, and at one time taught in Altona with the satellite program. The dance programs are available to kids as young as three all the way up to adults. The classes included Creative Movement, Ballet and Jazz.

The classes are usually taught by an RWB School teacher training student.

Chris also asked Suzanne to talk about the popularity of ballet considering the wide assortment of activities children can now access whether it be in Winnipeg or in rural areas.
