The following is the RCMP report to May 4, 2024.  This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.

 

- 23 traffic violations

- 15 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)

- 14 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)

- 17 crimes against property

- 11 other criminal code

- 10 crimes against persons

- 1 Traffic accidents

 

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Just a reminder that RCMP DO NOT do child abuse and adult abuse registry checks.  RCMP is responsible for criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks.  You require a vulnerable sector check if you are in a position of trust. You must present to the detachment when applying for a vulnerable sector check. 

 

Position of Trust means a paid or voluntary position dealing with vulnerable people. Vulnerable people may include children, youth, the elderly, people with physical, developmental, emotional, social, or other disabilities, people who are addicted or dependent on addictive substances, and people who have been the victim of a crime or an accident.

Applicants who require a Vulnerable Sector Check from their organization must present themselves in person and provide written consent in order for the checks to be conducted.

Proper identification must be produced and recorded on the application: a government issued photo identification for the Primary Document, and a secondary document which verifies the Primary identification.

YOUTH CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS

Criminal record checks cannot be done on youth unless working in Government. It has been established that non-provincially or municipally run summer camps and pools, public/private schools including colleges/universities are not government employers.

 

April 18, 2024

Police received a report of a break and enter to a business in Deloraine. Police followed up with the owners however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of disturbing the peace in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of uttering threats in Deloraine. Police reviewed the information provided and it appeared no direct threats were made. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police responded to a call under the 911 act for a 911 hang up call in the RM of Killarney-Turtle Mountain. Police were able to contact the caller and determined a child had the phone and there was no emergency.

Police received a report of an assault in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant and a male was arrested for failure to comply with release order.

 

April 19, 2024

Police received a report of disobeying order of court in Deloraine. Police followed up with all parties involved and the matter was concluded.

 

April 20, 2024

Police responded to a 911 call for a possible fire in Waskada. After further investigation it was determined the smoke was from an electrical issue and an electrician was notified. There were no injuries.

Police received a report of uttering threats in Waskada. Police followed up and issued a warning at the complainant's request.

Police responded to a 911 call for an alarm at a business in Boissevain. Patrols were made however there were no signs of a disturbance.

Police responded to a 911 call for disturbing the peace in Killarney. Police were able to separate the parties involved and the file was concluded.

 

April 21, 2024

Police responded to a 911 call for mischief in Deloraine. Photos and statements were taken, and the matter is under investigation.

Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Killarney.

Police responded to another 911 call for an alarm at a business in Boissevain. Patrols were made however there were no signs of a disturbance.

Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Killarney.

Police responded to a call under the fire prevention act in the RM of Grasslands. Patrols of the area were conducted, as well as follow up with the fire department and the matter was concluded.

Police received a call under the mental health act in the RM of Cartwright-Roblin.

 

April 22, 2024

Police received a request to assist another agency with a matter in the RM of Deloraine-Winchester. Police assisted with the matter and the file was concluded.

Police received a report of disturbing the peace in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant and it was determined they were not needed. The complainant was advised to call back if anything changed.

 

April 23, 2024

Police responded to a 911 call under the fire prevention act in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. The fire was contained and there were no injuries.

 

April 24, 2024

Police responded to a report of possession of weapon in Boissevain. Upon arrival members followed up with the suspects and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of a break and enter to a residence in the RM of Prairie Lakes. Police attended however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

 

April 25, 2024

Police received a report of fraud in Boissevain. Members followed up with the complainant and provided options for next steps.

Police received a report of uttering threats in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed. Police followed up and provided additional resources for the complainant.

Police responded to a call of uttering threats in Killarney. Members followed up with the complainant, and a male was arrested and released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.

 

April 26, 2024

Police received a call under the 911 act for a 911 hang up call. Police followed up with the caller and determined they were having issues with their phone lines and police were not required.

Police received a request for a wellbeing check in Killarney. When police followed up with the caller, it was determined all parties were located safe and police were not needed.

Police received a report of failure to comply with a court order in Hartney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

 

April 27, 2024

Police responded to a 911 call under the fire prevention act in the RM of Prairie Lakes. The fire was deemed electrical and there were no injuries.

Police received a report of mischief in Boissevain. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police responded to a call under the child welfare act in Hartney. Police followed up with all parties involved and the matter was concluded.

 

April 28, 2024

Police received a report of mischief in Boissevain. Police made additional patrols in the area however any parties involved were gone on arrival.

Police responded to an animal call in Glenora. Patrols were made in an attempt to locate a vehicle however it was gone on arrival. Conservation was informed, and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of theft of truck in Killarney. Upon further investigation, it was determined the vehicle was not stolen and the situation was not a police matter.

Police received a report of mischief in Deloraine. Police followed up with the complainant and the matter was unfounded.

Police responded to a call of possession of weapon in Hartney. The matter was unfounded.

 

April 29, 2024

Police received a report of a theft of truck in Minto. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of another theft of truck in Minto. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of a suspicious person in Boissevain. While patrolling the area, the complainant called back, and that matter was concluded.

 

April 30, 2024

Police received a report to assist the general public. Patrols were made and the matter was concluded.

Police responded to call under the customs act in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. Patrols were made, the vehicle was located, and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of mischief in Cartwright. Police followed up with the complainant and were advised police were no longer needed.

 

May 1, 2024

Police received a report of mischief in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. Members followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police responded to a 911 call for a person reported missing in the RM of Deloraine-Winchester. The missing person was located safe.

 

May 2, 2024

Police received a report of a male breaching a court order in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of a failure to comply with court order in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a fraud in the RM of Prairie Lakes. No information was released, and no money was lost. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police responded to a wellbeing check in Killarney. All parties were located safe.

May 3, 2024

Police received a call under the 911 act for a 911 hang up call in Killarney. Police made contact with the complainant and determined it was a pocket dial.

Police received a report of harassing communications in Boissevain. Police followed up with the complainant and the suspect and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of theft of truck in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant and the matter was unfounded.

Police received a report of a suspicious person/people in the RM of Killarney-Turtle Mountain. Patrols were made in the area however all parties were gone on arrival.
