February 2, 2022

Police were patrolling the town of Killarney and saw vehicle blocked traffic at edge of driveway in front of a residence on Young Street.  The vehicle came back inactive, appeared to have knocked over their own recycling bin. Police knocked on the door to the residence multiple times without answer. Police had vehicle towed due to traffic hazard/obstruction and vehicle on roadway uninsured/unregistered.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

February 3, 2022

Police received a report of elder abuse in Killarney.  The matter was unfounded.

February 4, 2022

Police received a report of 3 injured pigs on highway 23 that may have fallen out of the back of a truck.  A nearby colony was contacted and advised it is their pigs and they would attend and deal with the matter.

February 5, 2022

Police received a dispatch that a vehicle needed to be pulled out of the ditch in the Brenda-Waskada area.  Police contacted the driver who confirmed he was safe and police advised a tow truck was on the way.

RCMP received a report of fraud in Boissevain.  The complainant reported that he sent a seller on Kijiji $250 for a puppy posted online. The complainant found out puppies aren't real and subject of complaint admitted to the ad being "false". The offender's name was given to police with a phone number and all checks were negative.  Police referred the complainant to the Canadian Antifraud Centre.  Police were unable to reach the offender. 

February 6, 2022

Police received a report of uttering threats in Boissevain.  The matter was unfounded.

February 7, 2022

Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle in the RM of Argyle.  The registered owner was contacted. 

Police received a report of a lost wallet in Cartwright.

Police received a report of theft in the RM of Prairie Lakes.  The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of the grandparent scam in Deloraine.  No money was lost.

Police received a report of a lost cell phone in Killarney.

February 8, 2022

A report was received that there was a red Pontiac Van, no license plates and no temporary permit, parked near the Deloraine School.  Caller just wanted police to know.  No other information was provided. 

Police received a report of an erratic driver on highway 3 driving a  silver Chevy truck. The caller stated that the vehicle crossed over the solid yellow line behind him a few times and then passed him.  The caller wanted the driver warned. Police contacted the registered owner and they were warned.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

February 9, 2022

Police received a report of an unlicensed male driver in Killarney.  The male does in fact have a valid drivers license and was not on any conditions not to drive.

Police received a report of mischief in Waskada when someone was trying to open the back door last night at 1:05 am. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of mischief in Killarney.  The suspect was warned.

Police received a report of mischief at George Lake.  The suspects were warned about their behavior and the complainant declined to press charges.

February 10, 2022

Police received a report of a stolen vehicle in Waskada overnight.  The matter is under investigation and connected to several other thefts.

Police received a report of fraud in Boissevain. Another person was able to stop the transaction from going through. A person was spoken to about fraud and how to recognize these types of frauds.

Police helped a motorist get their vehicle unstuck after road conditions became treacherous.  Police later closed number 10 highway.

February 11, 2022

Police received a report of a violation of the Health Act in Boissevain.  The matter was investigated with no charges.

Police did COVID compliance checks in Deloraine and Belmont.

Police received a report of fraud in Baldur.  There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a suspicious person in Killarney. The matter was unfounded.

February 14, 2022

Police received a report of a theft in Boissevain. The matter is under investigation.

There will be a new process for criminal record checks.  Please call either Killarney (204) 523-7293 or Boissevain/Deloraine (204) 534-7262 and provide your e-mail address and phone number.  The criminal record check forms will be emailed to you to be filled out.  Complete and return by mail with a $10 money order made out to the Receiver-General; or a letter stating you are a volunteer.  The mailing address for Killarney RCMP is Box 490, Killarney, MB  R0K 1G0 and Boissevain RCMP is Box 25, Boissevain, MB R0K 0E0.  

Reminders:

Police continue to remind residents to never provide personal information such as birth dates, SIN numbers, credit card numbers, or e-mail address to parties you do not know.  If you feel that you have been contacted by a fraudulent source, please contact police or Phone Busters Fraud Center immediately for further instructions on what you can do.  Phone Busters can be reached directly at 1-888-495-8501, however also report same to the local detachment.

We would like to advise that the business hours of operation at the Killarney Detachment are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. 

Boissevain RCMP will be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
