The return of the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair this week has allowed many exhibitors to get back to doing what they love to do and that’s compete and be in the show arena.

Taylor Buchberger of Langenberg, Saskatchewan spent the week looking after, preparing and showing his heavy horses. He’s thrilled to be back in Brandon at the winter fair. “We’ve been showing a four horse of Clydesdales this week.”

“With my wife’s dad we’ve probably been here four or five times and this year is the first time we've been here showing ourselves.”

The week is a busy one for heavy horse exhibitors and so was the work leading up to the fair. “We’ve been busy and started putting horses in the barn back in December so we’ve been cleaning the barn twice a week for quite awhile.”

The Buchbergers have been busy competing in team classes, cart classes, unicorn and four horse competitions. Their young daughter is also competing in a cart class.

“The numbers are similar to previous years and it’s just nice to get out and do stuff so we’ve had a great week at the fair.”

The RMWF draws to a close on Saturday evening.
