With Christmas weekend here, we wanted to bring together all of the special guests we hosted over December during our Christmas Made in Manitoba specials. We were fortunate to connect with three amazing artists this year; Ed Wayne, Nicole Yunker and Brian Jacobs.

As you celebrate with your family and friends in the coming days, and if you are looking to fill your home with Manitoba made sounds of the season, we have all you need below.

Merry Christmas!

December 2nd - Ed Wayne

Welcome to the first Christmas Made in Manitoba of the season, and tonight we're going back nearly a decade to revisit one of the first albums released by Ed Wayne and the North Border Band.

Coming from the Winkler and Morden areas, the group recorded the album in 2014, and included a number of originals songs written by Ed and performed by a "who's who" of musicians from Southern Manitoba.

Tonight, we go back in time to find out how the album came together, what inspired Ed to write songs like "Bethlehem's Barn, "When Mary Married Joe" and "Remember Christmas".

And, of course, we'll be sure to talk about Christmas memories and everything that makes this time of year so special for so many. It's Ed Wayne and the North Border Band with the album "It's Christmas" on Made in Manitoba.

December 9th - Nicole Yunker

Welcome to another Christmas Made in Manitoba! We're excited you could join us tonight for the debut of Dauphin’s Nicole Yunker, who is joining us for the first time. Our focus is her album “Christmas by the Fire”, which features five newly arranged, traditional Christmas tracks underneath Nicole’s classically trained singing.

How that classical training happened is quite the story, and includes a dream come true by studying with an idol of hers from the other side of the world in Australia. But in yet another example of how the world has shrunk through video chat, Nicole was able to embark on that opportunity of a lifetime which ultimately led to the release of her first two albums in 2021, one of them being "Christmas by the Fire".

It's Nicole Yunker on Christmas Made in Manitoba, and you can enjoy our conversation, and her cozy sounding music, below.

December 16th - Brian Jacobs

Brian Jacobs album cover

Welcome to another Christmas Made in Manitoba, and this weekend we're welcoming the Morden area's Brian Jacobs to the studio. And not just Brian! In fact a lot of his family and friends, too. He just completed a three song E-P called "A Brian Jacobs Christmas with Family & Friends".

Tonight, we're fortunate enough to share all three of those songs, which only went through final production last week.

One of those songs was inspired by the Neil Diamond hit "Sweet Caroline", and we think you're going to love it! You can also watch Brian's in studio performance of "It's Christmas Time", below.
