RCMP report that a 37 year old Alberta man died following an accident south of Boissevain Thursday afternoon.

The accident was about 5 kilometers south of town at the junction of Highways 3 and 10. Police say a car collided with a semi around 1:45p.m. near that junction.

The car was crushed beyond recognition and was wedged under the semi's trailer.

Police have confirmed one person died at the scene but haven't yet confirmed how many people were in the car or truck.

A five kilometer stretch of Highway 10 south of Boissevain remained closed for about seven hours.

At the time of the accident the temperature was around zero and there were fog patches in the area.
