The Canadian International Grains Institute's new crop missions continue across the world, with a group of producers having just returned from Asia.

Greg Porozni is a farmer from Alberta, as well as the chair of Cereals Canada, who travelled to seven countries across Asia to speak about this year's Canadian crop quality. He says it's important to connect with international customers to demonstrate the superior quality of Canadian wheat.

"We have very high protein, it's averaging around 14.1," he says, "so it's very high quality, high protein. Our gluten strength is on its way up again because we've realized the three varieties that were poor in gluten strength that we're slowly phasing out... So our gluten strength will in fact increase. The CGC is changing their wheat classification system to make sure we fit the parameters that our market wants."

Porozni says the Asian market is particularly important to connect with because it is a large and growing market.
