Many folks and families are stringing up their Christmas lights this weekend, enjoying the mild temperatures to get festive with inflatables, lights, wreaths and reindeers!

The town of Souris is preparing for their annual Twinkle Tours, where residents and business owners go that extra mile (of lights!) to showcase their creative Christmas flare in celebration of the holiday season!

The theme this year is Who-ville and the Grinch and all the whimsy of that classic Christmas story will be adorning the streets of Souris.

Event coordinator, Michelle Wipf, says there will be prizes for first place and second place with Souris Bucks in prizing, as well as Best Business.

Voting can be done throughout the community at any of the drop boxes, or online, or through the Twinkle Tour email.

"We're just lighting up the town as best we can," says Wipf. "It's fantastic to do a drive during the Christmas season to see all the holiday lights up and make the town nice and glittery!"

"It's a lot of fun," she adds. "I remember doing that when I was a child, the Twinkle Tour, in Virden actually, with my grandparents!"
