Stonewall / Headingley RCMP respond to fatal collision

On October 25, 2023, at 11:40 pm, RCMP officers from Stonewall / Headingley responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover on Highway 1, located approximately one kilometre west of Highway 26.

Investigators have determined that a vehicle, with two occupants, was travelling westbound when it lost control as it crossed over the bridge spanning the Assiniboine River. The vehicle then entered the ditch and rolled.

The driver, a 33-year-old male from Dauphin, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to hospital in critical condition where on October 26, he succumbed to his injuries.

The passenger, a 45-year-old female from Dauphin, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Weather conditions are believed to be a factor in the collision.
