The Winnipeg Jets lost 4-3 to the Washington Capitals. Tom Wilson scored the winner 26 seconds into overtime for the Caps. Pierre-Luc Dubois, Kyle Connor and Cole Perfetti with his first NHL goal replied for the Jets who face the Predators in Nashville on Thursday.



The Premier Hockey Federation, which includes the Toronto Six, Buffalo Beauts, Boston Pride, Metropolitan Riveters, Connecticut Whale and Minnesota Whitecaps, is more than doubling each teams salary cap to $750,000 and adding two expansion franchises next season. The league is moving forward with plans to establish a team in Montreal and adding an expansion franchise in the United States. The Board of Governors of the Premier Hockey Federation announced a commitment to invest $25 million in direct payments and benefits to its players over the next three years.



The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension with linebacker Jesse Briggs. The Kelowna native, who was scheduled to become a free agent next month, returns to the Blue Bombers for a seventh season in 2022.
