The Tiger Hills Hockey League division finals are set. Wes Lewis scored twice including the game winner as the Minnedosa Bombers edged the Clippers 3-2 Sunday in Cartwright in the deciding fifth game of their East Division semifinal. The Bombers face the Gladstone Lakers in the East final. The Virden Oil Kings will meet the Boissevain Border Kings in the West Division final.
Brooklyn Franklin scored twice and Grace Glover stopped all 38 shots she faced as the Westman Wildcats blanked the Yellowhead Chiefs 3-0 in Hartney. Sophia Anderson also scored for the Wildcats who evened the Manitoba Female U18 AAA Hockey League's best-of-five semifinal at a game a piece. Hayley Kolosky assisted on all three Westman goals. Game three goes Saturday in Shoal Lake.
Carson Buydens scored four times as Virden downed Waywayseecppo 6-2 at Tundra Oil & Gas Place. Logan Rands and Braden Fischer also scored for the Oil Capitals. Virden netminder Eric Reid made 27 saves. Buydens has been named a finalist for the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's Rookie of the Year award; Rands is in the running for Top Defenseman and Fischer is a finalist for the Most Valuable Player Award.
Westman High School Hockey League - Matt Stephens made 38 saves in the Vincent Massey Vikings 2-1 victory over the Dauphin Clippers 2-1 and Kash Henkelman had a hat trick as Swan Valley downed Hamiota/Rivers/Elton/Strathclair 4-1.

Canada’s Wheelchair Curling team has a 4-1 record at the 2022 Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing. Mark Ideson, Ina Forrest, Jon Thurston and Manitoban Dennis Thiessen defeated the United States 7-4 and lost 6-3 to Sweden. Canadian athletes have won 12 medals in Beijing including four gold, two silver and six bronze.
