Mischief Under $5000

On April 7th at 05:48 am Paladin security reported finding a male that had broken a window at an institution in the 1900 block of 1st street. A 48-year-old male was arrested for Mischief under $5000. The accused also had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. He was held for court on April 8th, 2024.

Possession of Break in tools

On April 7th at 10:01 am Police received a call that two males had been observed going through yards in the 100 block of 14th and 15th street. A 28-year-old male was arrested in the area. He was in possession of stolen cheques from a business and break in tools. He was released for court on June 17th, 2024.

Structure Fire

On April 7th at 5:58 pm Police received a report of a house fire at 423 12th street. Victoria Avenue was closed between 11th street and 13th street in order to run fire hoses. Neighboring houses were evacuated. No one was injured and the fire does not appear suspicious. The Office of the Fire commissioner is still investigating the cause of the fire.

Theft under $5000

On April 7th Police arrested a 53-year-old female for Theft Under $5000. On March 30th a business in the 2600 block of Victoria Avenue reported a customer had left their wallet at the till and the accused picked it up and left the store. She will appear in court on June 17th, 2024.

Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle

On April 7th at 9:59 pm Police observed a vehicle driving erratically in the 1400 block of 18th street. The vehicle was observed to blow through two red lights as it continued southbound. Police activated emergency equipment, but the vehicle did not stop and headed south out of town. A pursuit was not initiated. Officers observed the vehicle hit the ditch at the corner of 18th street and the Eastern Access at a high rate of speed. No serious injuries were reported. An 18-year-old male was arrested for dangerous driving and flight from police. Alcohol was not a factor and the driver stated he was racing. The accused was later released for court on June 17th, 2024.

Possess Weapon Dangerous

on April 7th at 9:53 Pm Police received a call from an employee of a business in the 1800 block of Middelton Avenue. The employee reported an intoxicated male entered the business to use the washroom and was carrying a large kitchen knife. Officers arrested a 26-year-old male. He was also charged for breaching his probation by carrying the weapon. He was held for court on April 8th, 2024.
