The following is the RCMP report to January 23, 2023.  This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.

- 5 traffic violations

- 16 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)

- 29 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)

- 11 crimes against property

- 11 other criminal code

- 19 crimes against persons

- 3 traffic accidents

- 2 drug enforcement

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Just a reminder that RCMP DO NOT do child abuse and adult abuse registry checks.  RCMP is responsible for criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks.  You require a vulnerable sector check if you are in a position of trust. You must present to the detachment when applying for a vulnerable sector check. 

Position of Trust means a paid or voluntary position dealing with vulnerable people. Vulnerable people may include children, youth, the elderly, people with physical, developmental, emotional, social, or other disabilities, people who are addicted or dependent on addictive substances, and people who have been the victim of a crime or an accident.

Applicants who require a Vulnerable Sector Check from their organization must present themselves in person and provide written consent in order for the checks to be conducted.

Proper identification must be produced and recorded on the application: a government issued photo identification for the Primary Document, and a secondary document which verifies the Primary identification.

 

December 24, 2022

Police received a report of an assault in Boissevain. The victim declined to provide a statement.

Police received a report of disobeying a court order in Boissevain. Police are investigating this matter.

 

December 25, 2022

Police were dispatched to a fire in Deloraine. Fire and emergency services were also called out. While en-route, they were advised to stand down.

Police were dispatched to a well-being check in Boissevain. Everyone located safe.

 

December 29, 2022

Police received a report of utter threats in Cartwright. Insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a missing person in Killarney. The matter was resolved.

 

January 1, 2023

Police received a report of a missing youth in Killarney. The youth was located safe.

 

January 3, 2023

Police received a report of theft in the RM of Argyle. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of uttering threats in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of disturbing the peace in Boissevain. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of a lost cell phone in Ninette.

 

January 4, 2023

Police assisted with a matter under the Child Welfare Act in the Cartwright-Roblin area.

Police received reports of a male walking along number 10 highway. Police located the male who was just out for some fresh air. Police gave him a ride home as people were finding it hard to see him on the side of the highway.

 

January 6, 2023

Police were dispatched to a domestic dispute in Boissevain. A male and a female were both charged with assault and released on undertakings not to have contact with each other. Both will appear in court at a later date.

 

January 7, 2023

Police received a report of harassing communications in Boissevain. There was insufficient evidence to proceed with charges.

Police assisted with 2 matters under the Mental Health Act in Boissevain.

 

January 8, 2023

Police received a report of a missing youth in Boissevain. Located safe.

 

January 9, 2023

Police received a report of a male who had breached his fail to comply order in Deloraine. Police located the male, he was arrested, charged with resisting arrest and failing to comply with a release order.

 

January 10, 2023

Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of assault in Killarney. The matter was unfounded.

Police received a report of a theft of truck in Deloraine. Suspects were arrested in Neepawa. The truck was recovered.

 

January 11, 2023

Police received a report of mischief in Boissevain. The matter was unfounded.

 

January 12, 2023

Police received a report of utter threats in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of theft in Killarney. The matter is being investigated.

 

January 13, 2023

Police received a report of failing to comply with an undertaking in Boissevain. A female was arrested and charged.

Police received a report of an assault in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of harassing communications in Killarney. The matter was resolved.

Police received a report of fraud in Killarney. The matter is being investigated.

Police received a report of criminal harassment in Boissevain. The matter was unfounded.

 

January 14, 2023

Police received a report of failing to comply with an undertaking in Boissevain. A male was arrested and charged. Court is pending.

Police received a report of assault in Hartney. The victim declined to press charges.

 

January 15, 2023

Police assisted with a matter under the Family Relations Act in the RM of Argyle.

 

January 16, 2023

Police received a report of disturbing the peace in Boissevain. The matter was resolved.

Police received a report of ATVs and snowmobiles driving on private property in the Killarney-Turtle Mountain. Police would like to remind the public that off-road vehicles may not be driven on private property and to keep on the designated trails.

 

January 17, 2023

Police did a snowmobile patrol in the Lake Metigoshe area.

 

January 18, 2023

Police were dispatched to a traffic accident where a vehicle hit an elk. Police attended and the elk was removed by police. No injuries to the driver.

 

January 19, 2023

Police received a report of a break and enter in the RM of Grassland. The matter is under investigation.

 

January 21, 2023

Police received a report of harassing communications in Deloraine. The complainant declined to pursue the matter.

 

January 22, 2023

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

Police received a report of disturbing the peace in Hartney. The matter was resolved.

 

January 23, 2023

Police received a report of snowmobiles crossing on private property without permission in the Deloraine-Winchester area. Again, police would like to remind snowmobiles to stay off private property!!!

Police received a report of theft in Boissevain. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of harassment in Killarney. The matter was deemed not a police matter.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

Police responded to a 911 in Killarney. Police located an intoxicated male whose story was very unclear. No safety concerns at this time. The male was released to a sober friend.

 

January 24, 2023

Police were dispatched at 4:47 to an assault in Boissevain. The matter was unfounded.

 

Reminder:  It is important to report ALL thefts, stolen or lost property to police in a timely fashion so that it can be followed up on by police.

Boissevain Detachment business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
