Portage la Prairie RCMP arrest driver of stolen vehicle

On October 5, 2023, at approximately 7:30 pm, RCMP responded to a report of an erratic driver on Highway 1, in the RM of Portage la Prairie. The licence plate was obtained and found to be associated to a stolen vehicle out of Brandon.

RCMP officers began patrolling and located the stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a business on Crescent Road West, in Portage la Prairie. The driver was arrested without incident.

A 29 year old man, of Brandon, has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Fail to Comply x2 and Drive Without a Valid Drivers Licence under the Highway Traffic Act.

He was remanded into custody.
