It's one of the most successful contests in Canadian advertising memory. I'm referring to the Tim Horton's Roll up the Rim campaign...the annual promotion that continues to attract attention all across the country. Ron Bruist was the advertising executive who conceived the idea, and headed up the Tim Horton's marketing for almost 20 years. Ron was in Manitoba earlier this year, and addressed a group of farm producers in Brandon. Ron returned last night, and spoke with a group of business operators at a Morden and Chamber of Commerce gala evening. I had the privilege of serving as MC, and although Ron retired about ten years ago, he still speaks very fondly of his time at Tim Horton's.
