Thousands of Manitobans took a moment November 11th to recognize and observe Remembrance Day, as did thousands of students a day earlier at schools throughout the province.

At Morden Collegiate Grade 12 students Chloe Friesen and her friend Bailey Zacharias, in our opinion, produced something truly amazing... a video poetic response to Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae's In Flanders Fields.

The video begins with a recitation of the original In Flanders Fields with archival World War II footage, and then transitions to present day with Chloe reciting her poem in Morden's Confederation Park which is home to the community's cenotaph. Her poem is a response to McCrae's poem from a 2015 perspective.

We also asked Chloe about her favourite line from her poem, and Bailey about the tone he tried to create with the new video he shot and production techniques he used.

We feel this is yet another testament to the amazing creativity and passion our young people have, and that's why we felt it was important to showcase it today on the Morning show.

Below is the video Chloe and Bailey created.
