Brandon Wheat Kings' owner, general manager and head coach Kelly McCrimmon was last night named Brandon's Business Person of the Year.
The announcement was made at the 128th Annual Brandon Chamber of Commerce Dinner at the Keystone Centre.
McCrimmon joined the Wheat Kings in 1988.  A former Brandon captain, he has served as head coach and general manager since 2004. The second winningest coach in franchise history.

McCrimmon's teams have won eight Eastern Division pennants, four Eastern Conference championships, four appearances in the WHL Finals and have participated in three Memorial Cups including last May's event in Brandon.
The driving force behind Brandon's successful bid to host the 11-day National Championship, McCrimmon became a minority owner of the Wheat Kings in 1992 and took over sole ownership of the franchise in 2000 when he purchased the remainder of the club from longtime owner Bob Cornell.

The Brandon Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year recognizes a local businessman that exemplifies outstanding business practices and achievements that demonstrates leadership, vision and the creation of economic growth, while contributing to the community.
