Students at Brandon University continue to do what they can while striking faculty and university officials try to reach a new deal.

Deandra Tousignant is president of the BU's student's union. She says the strike is two weeks old and she hopes a move to mediation means the strike is one step closer to ending.

Tousignant admits it has been a challenging time for students.

The mediator is pushing the two sides to reach agreement as quickly as possible to get students back into class. Tousignant says it's difficult to say when students will be back in class.

Tousignant wants faculty and the university to reach a fair and lengthy deal so another strike doesn't happen 3 years down the road.
Faculty members walked off the job October 12th.
