The Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum (CATPM) is holding their first ever Book and Model Kit Sale this coming Saturday, October 28th.

'Above and Beyond' will feature WWII books, aircraft model kits and art prints for sale at the museum's historic canteen.

Executive Director, Stephen Hayter, says they're excited to be able to offer these items that have been accumulating over the past few years to the public who also have a keen interest in World War II and aviation.

"They've been building in our collection, and we certainly get a lot of donations about our mandate, the Second World War in aviation, and we're putting books into our library," explains Hayter. "But of course, people collect many of the same books and we do have extra copies of a lot of the different titles."

"And so, we thought that since we'll be closing for the winter, starting November 12th, we'd go out with a big sale!"

Hayter says they've been very fortunate to have folks donate brand new model airplane kits that are still in their original cellophane wrap, and these are also included in their sale items.

"We've had wonderful donors who have given us some beautiful model kits of aviation of different aircraft, and there is always a lot of interest in that type of thing," he adds.

"This is just a little opportunity for us to do a little fundraising and get the public out to the museum as well!"
