Work continues in 2018 on the new community complex in Deloraine.

Deloraine Winchester Reeve Gord Weidenhamer says framing the new building should be completed by the end of February. When completed the facility will be home to a new community hall and curling club.

“Then it’s all interior work obviously and hope to see some progress on that. It’s a steel structured frame and then it’s like pre-fab walls. It’s called a Robertson building and it all goes together. The pre-fab components have all the insulation and metal in each piece.”

The goal is to have everything completed by September of 2018.

Fund raising continues and so far local efforts have raised more than $200,000. The complex will cost right around $3.7 million.

“The more funds we can raise locally the less we have to put onto the taxes and we’d love to raise at least $500,000” said Weidenhamer.
