On Tuesday the federal government announced that it would be investing $123,290 to restore and modernize the foyer and concert hall in the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium (WMCA).

“By supporting improvements to the WMCA we are building a stronger community and supporting all those who showcase their talents here,” said Brandon-Souris MP Larry Maguire. “This project will be true to its original design and will breathe new life into this magnificent building.”

Upgrades include replacing carpeting and repairing seating, repainting walls, and installing new large-format video display monitors.

“I'm sure everyone will be proud of the new look, which will be both bold and familiar," said Franz Lehrbass, general manager of the WMCA. "The Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium will be re-launched to serve new generations of Western Manitoba.”

Funding was provided through Western Economic Diversification under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
