The Souris Fair and Rodeo returns this Saturday for a weekend of entertainment.

The festival will have plenty of activities including a slow pitch tournament, 4H beef show and sale and a roast beef supper.

President of the Souris and Glenwood Ag Society, Donna McKay shared what this year's Heartland Rodeo will all include.

"It's a full rodeo. You will have your bull riding, your barrel racing, your broncos, steer wrestling and then there is peewee barrels which some places have and some don't. We are one of the ones that have the peewee barrels for the little, little, little folks."

McKay noted they have added a new activity to the fair this year. A lazer tag game for kids will be set up from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday.

"That's up at the fairgrounds, I think I am going to stick it in the ball diamond," explained McKay. "The guy brings everything and sets it up and I believe there are 10 kids that can play at once."

Other kids activities include face painting and bouncers.

The festival, which runs July 9th and 10th, kicks with the community parade.

Cost is $10 for the day or $15 for the weekend.
