The 2018 tax bills have now been mailed out to property owners in Brandon.

If you own any property in the City of Brandon and do not receive a tax bill by Thursday, May 31st.

Taxes are due by end of business day (5 p.m.) on Friday, June 29th, 2018. Owners are responsible for payment of taxes, whether or not a bill is received through the mail. Brandon City Hall office hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Penalties on unpaid taxes will accrue at a rate of 1.25% per month, as per City of Brandon By-law No.6658.

If people wish to avoid the long line-ups nearing the payment deadline, the City of Brandon will allow you to leave a post-dated cheque, along with their tax stub, at the Finance Department on the main floor of Brandon City Hall and the payment will be processed at month-end.

A discount of 0.5% is applied to 2018 property tax pre-payments received on or before Thursday, May 31st, 2018.

More information on taxes and assessment is available on the City of Brandon website at http://www.brandon.ca/taxes-assessments.
