It's been one year since the Samaritan House Ministries' Food Bank in Brandon moved into its new location at 820 Pacific Avenue.

Executive Director Thea Dennis says the move has allowed them to serve more people.

“The move has been wonderful. We have enough room in our warehouse to store the food and we have a fridge and freezer in there that are able to keep it fresh for the clients that we are serving. Our donation abilities to be able to receive that has dramatically improved from our other location on Rosser Avenue.”

Dennis notes the building does need a few upgrades including a new HVAC system and upgrades to the electrical wiring.

She says Samaritan House is accepting monetary donations for these projects, in addition to food donations.
