2014 construction north of Boissevain

Worries over wildlife is delaying a major highway construction project south of Boissevain.

It appears the Highway 10 project wont be starting this month as originally planned.
Concerns over wildlife in the construction area have prompted the province to back off the mid May starting date.

As a part of the environmental license there is a requirement that work cannot effectively proceed until after August 1 to protect three endangered species - owl, sparrow and hawk.

The section of Highway 10 from the U-S border to PTH 3 will be constructed this year and work will begin in august.

The next section from PTH 3 to north of the curves north of Boissevain should be constructed next year in 2016.
