Houses in Langruth and most of Gladstone will soon have remotely read water meters installed. Municipality of Westlake-Gladstone Mayor David Single says they're getting funding to help finance the meters.

"Manitoba Water Services board has agreed to pay 30% up to a total of $30,000 from them for these remote read water meters. We've already got them in the rural area and in Plumas, and we've got some in Gladstone. So, we will get all we need for Langruth and the majority of Gladstone done."

Single outlines the benefits.

"We should be able to purchase about 280 for the $100,000. You know, Gladstone won't quite be totally finished, but it should be very close. So, it's really so much easier. You can just drive around the truck with the computer software. And read them without going into houses. It just saves a lot of time and you know you've got them done."
