The president with the Royal Canadian Legion in Killarney hopes to see a good crowd out for Wednesday's Remembrance Day Service.

Craig Taylor says the program will take place in the Legion Hall and starts at 10:45 Wednesday morning.

Taylor went onto say some soldiers from CFB Shilo will participate in the Killarney Remembrance Day Service.

A longtime postmaster in Killarney is now retired but before that he spent time as a basic training instructor during World War Two.

Roy Rozander is now 93 but says the memories are still fresh.

He didn't see duty overseas but says training at home wasn't without danger.

Rozander recalls one incident while he was taking his advanced training at CFB Shilo.

Rozander says when it comes to Remembrance Day his earliest memory was attending a service at a park in North Vancouver back in 1934.

Elsewhere, an open house will be held Wednesday afternoon at the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum north of Brandon.

Executive Director Stephen Hayter says they hold a free open house every November 11th.

He hopes lots of people make the trip to the museum following Remembrance Day ceremonies in the morning.

The museum's program runs from 1 to 4pm.

A special presentation will take place at 2:00pm.

Hayter says with every year that passes fewer World War 2 veterans remain and that places an even greater importance on museums like the Air Training Plan facility in Brandon.
