The situation with refugees heading to Manitoba has created some threatening calls.

R-C-M-P in Manitoba are investigating threatening phone calls that were made after three churches in Dauphin announced they're
planning to sponsor Syrian refugees.

Church spokesman Ron Marlin says two calls were made last Thursday, but he says the churches aren't rattled.

Marlin retired as the Dauphin R-C-M-P detachment commander in 2003.

He says the sponsoring churches don't believe the majority of Dauphin residents are against refugee resettlement there.
