The following is the RCMP report to February 24, 2015.  This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.
 
- 1 traffic accidents
- 5 traffic violations
- 7 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)
- 8 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)
- 4 crimes against property
- 1 other criminal code
 
NEW HOURS FOR BOISSEVAIN AND DELORAINE OFFICE.  Boissevain office will be open on Mondays and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Deloraine office will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in the RM of Prairie Lakes after  an unknown/uncooperative Saskatchewan female and her dog were found wandering in a field suffering from the elements.  She was treated for weather related injuries and released for a further mental health assessment.  Police would like to thank the Wellwood Colony for their assistance. 
 
February 20, 2015
Police were advised of another scam when residents received a yellow card in the mail which said they received $100 in gas rebates.  The residents were asked to call a number on the card and their credit card number was requested.   People are reminded to never give personal information unless you have initiated the transaction.
 
Police were called to advise that a truck in Boissevain had done a "power turn" near the arena.  The driver was located and given a warning. 
 
Police were called to an establishment in Boissevain where two males were intoxicated and refusing to leave.  Police attended and arrested two males who were released to a sober adult. Police want to remind people that being drunk in a license premise, you could be charged if the owner or worker asks you to leave. 
 
Police received a report of a theft of a chainsaw from the back of a vehicle in Killarney.  The matter is under investigation.
 
February 22, 2015
Police received a report of a disturbance at a residence in Killarney when an unknown male was banging on the back door. The homeowner went to the door and the subject tried to get in but the homeowner pushed him back out. The male is described as 20-30 years old, red hat and tan coloured jacket. He left out the rear gate and was southbound in the alley.  Police attended and made extensive patrols but were unable to locate anyone matching the description. The complainant was contacted but he did not have any further description of the male and did not know him. No damage to the residence. Anyone with information, please call Killarney RCMP.
 
Police received a 911 call of a disturbance with sounds of people yelling at each other in the background, and then the call disconnected. Dispatchers called the number back and spoke with a male who said his friend called 911 but doesn't want to talk. He stated things are complete chaos, people are fighting but the dispatcher could hear laughter in the background.   The call was disconnected when he was asked for an address. Police attended  Ninette and patrolled, no houses appeared to be having a party.  Further attempts to contact anyone at the number were unsuccessful and no further calls received.  911 is a service to be used for emergencies, please keep this in mind.
 
Police assisted with a breach of peace matter in Boissevain.  The matter was resolved peacefully.

Criminal Record Checks and Vulnerable Sector Searches:
Our goal is to complete these checks in a timely manner, however please plan ahead as they can take up to 3 weeks to complete.
 
Please also remember that Criminal Checks and Vulnerable Sector Searches for volunteers must provide a letter from the organization stating their volunteer status or there will be a $10.00 fee.
Criminal Record Checks for employment are $10.00 each.
 
Police would like to remind the public that if anyone requires fingerprinting services, they must make an appointment at the Killarney RCMP detachment.  Drop-ins cannot be accommodated.
 
We would like to advise that the business hours of operation at the Killarney Detachment are 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Monday to Friday, closed between 12:00-1:00. 
 
The Boissevain RCMP business hours are Monday and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
 
The Deloraine RCMP business hours are  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
 
The general public is encouraged to attend during those hours to ensure someone will be here. It is also recommended to call ahead, however, in the event of an emergency, call 911 or the emergency line.
