Education Minister James Allum was in Brandon Friday touting the government's smaller class size initiative.

He said Kindergarten to Grade 3 students in Brandon are now benefiting from new classrooms.

Three schools in the community are now benefiting from new classrooms and they are George Fitton, Waverly Park and Meadows.

The province also recently invested more than $6.4 million in a new gymnasium and child-care facility at George Fitton School.

Brandon School Division Chair Mark Sefton says they were pleased to see the old gym at George Fitton School converted to create new learning spaces, and the new classrooms at Waverly Park will help address a growing enrollment in the Brandon School Division.
