The Provincial Exhibition and the Bank of Montreal have partnered together to honour farm families in Manitoba who take an innovative approach to embracing their role in the Ag Industry.

BMO  has honoured farming families in Southern Alberta for over 20 years, and eleven years ago the program expanded to celebrate families in the Southwestern Ontario area.

This year five farming families have been honoured for their commitment to agriculture and the community during this week’s Royal Manitoba Winter Fair at the Keystone Centre.

General Manager of the Provincial Exhibition, Ron Kristjansson, says they had a great number of farm families nominated for the awards, 16 in total. “On Monday night BMO recognized the military, and the rest of the week they’ll be recognizing a farm family each day.”

“We’ll be hosting the recipient farm family all day and they’ll do a presentation on our Ag Learning Stage talking about their farm and what it means to farm in Manitoba and be part of the community and then recognized each night the rest of the week in the main arena.

Each family receives one night accommodation at the Victoria Inn in Brandon, free admission to the fair, recognition at the BMO Manitoba Farm Family Award Ceremony, VIP seating, presentation during the evening show and an opportunity to meet with representatives from Bank of Montreal, local government officials and the board members of the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba.

The following families are being recognized for their achievements at the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair this week on behalf of the Provincial Exhibition and the Bank of Montreal.
