Police say fog was a factor in an early morning accident in Western Manitoba.

There was an accident east of Souris Thursday morning. RCMP were called to Colony Road just before 6:30am.

Constable Karen Palson says a pick-up collided with a semi. She says the northbound semi had stopped at Highway 2, checked for traffic and proceeded to head east on Highway 2 when it was hit by an eastbound pickup.

The two occupants of the pick-up were taken to hospital, treated and released. The semi driver wasn't injured.

Police say those involved were from the Brandon and Kemnay areas.
Visibility was down to about 40 feet at the time due to heavy fog.

RCMP urge motorists to make sure their lights are on at all times.
