A 60 year old pilot has died as a result of a plane crash near Baldur and the fatal crash took the life of pilot Harold Parsonage.

Friday night Killarney RCMP received a report of an overdue plane. Parsonage was flying alone in his personal Piper aircraft from Gillam to a private landing ‎strip in the R.M. of Argyle. He was scheduled to arrive at the landing strip at approximately 6:30 pm, with RCMP receiving the overdue notice at 7:45 pm.

Just past his scheduled arrival time, contact was lost with the pilot and the aircraft.

At approximately 3:30 pm Saturday, the plane was located in a wooded area close to the landing strip, near Baldur.

He was pronounced deceased on scene.

He learned to fly out of Gladstone, Brandon and Winnipeg and passed his private pilot test in November 1978 and got his commercial check ride in January 1981. He began crop spraying in 2008 and is the father of four children.
