With this being the final summer for the Peace Tower at the International Peace Garden (IPG), officials have decided to keep the structure lit at night.

“In honor of the Tower’s final chapter at the Garden, we will have it lit at night from now until September 15,” said Garry Enns, CEO of IPG. “We felt it was important to share the Tower with the public in this way one last time.”

The Peace Tower is scheduled to be demolished this winter due to structural issues.

It will remain lit until September 15th.

The IPG Board of Directors is currently conducting an Ideas Competition on how the tower should be replaced.
