Mosquito fogging is not in the immediate plans for the City of Brandon.

Individual trap counts are rising and the city remains in the “medium” category for the potential of mosquito control.

The highest individual count earlier this week was sitting at 800.

Brandon officials say they use different traps than the City of Winnipeg, which is why Brandon is not yet fogging, while Winnipeg is.

Brandon will only start fogging if the guidelines value falls into and remains in the high category for two consecutive trap counts; or the average of any daily mosquito trap count is more than 1,000 nuisance mosquitoes; or if any individual trap count is more than 2,000 nuisance mosquitoes.
