The Municipality of North Norfolk is looking to accomplish several water related projects in 2016. Mayor Neil Christoffersen notes a big one's in the works.

"As well as the ongoing roads and drainage maintenance projects that we're going to keep focused, to which we want to provide people good access, we're looking at some further water line expansions of the area. One of the big things we're looking at is a lagoon expansion in Austin. We're just in the preliminary stages of investigating it."

He says MacGregor's also slated for an improved water delivery project.

"Also on the books is a water line looping project. And a looping project in MacGregor just means that we're looking for ways to strategically tie lines together to enhance the water delivery. And of course, they're all big projects, and they're going to require a lot of funding assistance; not only from the Province but also from the feds. So, we're putting our numbers together right now."

In response to the question of what the Municipality can gain from the new federal government in place, Christoffersen adds, "If you can base it on their election promises, they're going to be putting a lot more into infrastructure, and hopefully streamlining the system, giving municipalities better access or quicker access to this funding. So, that's what we're counting on."
