Members of Parliament will be back in the House of Commons in Ottawa this week and Brandon-Souris MP Larry Maguire says there will be some key issues up for discussion.

The Conservative MP says they have to vote in a speaker on December 3rd and the Trudeau government will deliver a throne speech on December 4th.

Maguire looks forward to getting back into the commons and being the best opposition possible.

"We will try to work as one unified opposition and make sure Mr. Trudeau's holds true on his 171 election promises and be respectful that with 99 members we need to be a strong opposition."

Maguire feels interim leaders Rona Ambrose is doing a great job and he feels with the experience on their side of the house thy should be able to do a great job in opposition.

Maguire hopes to hear in January what additional role he might have with the Conservative Party. He was over looked during the first round of critic duties that were handed out by leader Rona Ambrose.

"There will be an announcement in January in regards to some of the criteria and the requests that I've had for a role for me to play in this session of parliament."
