Brandon-Souris MP Larry Maguire doesn't like how the Trudeau government is handling the war in Iraq and Syria.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Canada will be calling back its six CF-18 fighter jets by February 22. "These planes have played a valuable role in the fight against ISIL and they should be staying in the fight so Canada continues to do its part" said Maguire.

Maguire stressed the need to continue helping Canada's allies and not to reduce the amount of commitment to the fight. "It sends the wrong message to our allies and our armed forces and we were doing a good job of destroying ammunition and other weapons and that's a real benefit to the ground troops involved in the fight."

He did applaud the move to bump up personnel in the region. Canada will be going from 650 people to 830.
